It all started with construction paper and excessive amounts of tape as a young kiddo. These days as an adult (sort of! Ha!) I express my creativity through photography. Every day I wake up grateful that my creative side meshes so well with my passion for people and turned into this dream into a career.
Creating a timeline for your wedding day can be a daunting task. I love to help brides with this task as I have great insight from photographing so many different weddings.
If you are curious to know a few things I chat about with my brides, keep reading!
The first thing that needs to be decided is when your ceremony will be. After that all of the other times will be based around that and almost fall into place. The other big decision is whether or not you will have a first look. I’ll go into more detail about this in another post, but I absolutely love when a bride and groom chooses to have a first look. The benefits of this include feeling less stressed and having extra photos of you and your honey! What could be better than those two thing!?
Based on my experience as a wedding photographer, I can confidently estimate the time it takes for various important photos and I ask that brides keeps these times in mind while working out the details of their timeline.
At least 60 minutes for Bride/Groom Prep
30 minutes for Bridal Party Photos (more time may be necessary if the bridal party is especially large)
30 minutes just for Bride and Groom Photos (These are the ones you will hang on your wall and pass down for generations. You will not want to skimp on time in this area!)
30 minutes for Family Photos (more time may be needed if you have an extra large family. It can take some time to round everyone up!)
15 minutes for Reception Decor. (These are best taken once the reception is all set up but before guest have arrived)
10 minutes for the Ceremony Decor
I hope this little list is helpful for you beautiful brides who are planning your wedding. If you are interested in booking a wedding with me please contact me here! I
‘d love to chat about how to make your day special.

Great Wedding day timeline tips! 🙂
Thanks!
Great advice. It’s important to know how much time to give to your photographer to get the images you need.
