It all started with construction paper and excessive amounts of tape as a young kiddo. These days as an adult (sort of! Ha!) I express my creativity through photography. Every day I wake up grateful that my creative side meshes so well with my passion for people and turned into this dream into a career.
Things sure have been crazy the past couple of weeks. Thanks to many friends we were able to move all of our apartment’s belongings to a storage unit in about three hours in early September. The plan was to put our bed in my parent’s family room downstairs and that is where we would sleep for the next couple of week until we closed on our house. Well apparently some measurements were off and when we went to take the mattress downstairs, well let’s just say our king size bed could not make it down the stairs…oops! We put a cry for help on Facebook and we were able to borrow a smaller mattress from a friend and that is what we have been sleeping on! Thank goodness for friends with extra mattresses otherwise we would have been sleeping on a pull out couch that is many, many years old!
Mickey left for his annual Colorado fall colors trip with his dad (did I mention my husband is not only my second shooter at weddings, but also an amazing landscape photographer!? Check him out here) early this week, so I have been husbandless (that’s a word right…) which is so sad. Our puppy, Holly, has not been adjusting well to such an abnormal schedule at my parents. We even took her to the vet once because she was acting so weird. Apparently it is all stress related. I feel like a bad dog mom 🙁
I’m working on editing a wedding from the past weekend as well as do laundry and pack before I head out to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Big Sur at the end of the week with Mickey. Once we get back from vacation we close on our house the very next day and move in the day after. Oh and I’m shooting a wedding on the same day we are moving!
Let’s just say life is crazy, and all I really want to do is sleep!
How do you all stay sane when life gets incredibly busy? I’d love to hear tips and tricks…goodness knows I need them!
P.S. I realize the image I posted has nothing to do with anything I wrote about today, but it’s a photo from the past weekend and it makes me so happy! I will be blogging a sneak peek from the wedding soon. So think of this as like a surprise sneak peek!
